Craigieburn is full of new cars, new estates and long freeway commutes - a combination that makes early paint protection genuinely worth doing. We are around eighteen minutes away in Tullamarine, with new-car ceramic coating, paint protection film and EV-specific packages.
The best time to protect a car is before it has done 1,000 kilometres, and Craigieburn produces more of those cars than almost anywhere else in the north. Between the Hume Highway dealership corridor and the constant turnover in the newer estates, a large share of the cars we see from Craigieburn are weeks old. On a new car, the paint is already at its best, so correction is minimal and the whole job is cheaper and faster. Wait three years and you are paying for correction as well as protection.
Those cars then go straight onto the Hume Freeway. A daily M31 commute is the single most aggressive thing you can do to a front bumper - high speed, heavy truck traffic and constant road debris. Front-end paint protection film is close to mandatory if you plan to keep the car and care what the front looks like at trade-in. Modern soft, thin factory clearcoats, particularly on white and light-coloured cars, chip more easily than owners expect.

Yes - it is the cheapest time to do it. New paint needs little or no correction, so you are paying for protection rather than repair. Our new-car package starts at $1,800 and includes decontamination, a light refinement stage and the coating itself.
Yes, we run dedicated EV packages. Tesla and several other EV brands use paint that is softer and thinner than traditional finishes, which means it marks more easily and needs a careful correction approach. We work on EVs regularly and have specific film and coating packages for them.
Usually yes, for a freeway commuter. A chipped front bar visibly reduces trade-in and resale value, and film is removable - it comes off with the damage still in the film rather than in the paint. For a Hume Freeway commute over three years, most owners come out ahead.
