Broadmeadows cars work for a living. Family SUVs, trade utes and daily commuters running the Hume Highway all take the same punishment: stone chips at the front, industrial fallout in the clearcoat, and open car park sun. We are about eleven minutes away in Tullamarine.
The Hume Highway and Pascoe Vale Road corridors are the main paint killer here. Sustained highway speed puts grit and stone into the front bar, bonnet leading edge, headlights and mirror faces at an angle and velocity that no coating can stop - ceramic coating is a chemical barrier, not an armour layer. Paint protection film is the only product that actually absorbs stone impact, which is why our most common Broadmeadows job is a front-end film package: full bonnet or bonnet leading edge, front bar, guards, mirrors and headlights.
The second issue is industrial fallout. Broadmeadows sits alongside significant industrial and rail infrastructure, and cars parked in the area collect airborne metallic particles that settle onto horizontal panels. Those particles oxidise, and the result is a rough-feeling bonnet and roof with tiny rust-coloured pinpoints. This is decontamination work, and it has to happen before any protection product goes on the car.
Third is heat. Broadmeadows Central and the surrounding retail and industrial car parks are large, open and unshaded, so cars sit in full sun for hours. UV degrades clearcoat over time, particularly on red and black cars, and it bakes bird droppings into the surface much faster than a shaded street would. Ceramic coating adds real UV resistance and, just as usefully, makes the car far easier to keep clean when it is working every day.

No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling. Ceramic coating is a hard chemical barrier a few microns thick - it resists staining, etching and UV, but it does not absorb impact. Paint protection film is a thick urethane layer that does, and it is what we fit to the front of Broadmeadows cars doing highway kilometres.
Yes. Trade vehicles are some of the best candidates for protection because they are used hard and held for years. Common jobs include film on the front end and load area edges, and ceramic coating over the rest to cut washing time and stop oxidation.
Almost certainly embedded industrial fallout or rail dust. It cannot be washed off - it needs a chemical iron remover and a clay bar to lift the particles out of the clearcoat. We include full decontamination in every coating package, and you will feel the difference immediately.
